WEEKLY BULLETIN

INFORMATION & RESOURCES

THE ART OF NEIGHBORING

All of our lives have been significantly altered in an effort to limit the spread and impact of the cornavirus. Being deligent to practice social distancing and following the guidelines established by public officials is vital to our own safety and to the safety of others. However, as we engage in physical distancing practices, it’s important to note that there is a big difference between social distancing and social isolation. As the Church, we called to love our neighbors. If you are looking for some creative and safe ways to connect with your neighbors, click here.

HE IS RISEN

We are looking to do one more week of featuring our church family members on a short video proclaiming our Lord’s resurrection. If you haven’t already, we’d love for you to play a part in this! Simply record yourself or your family saying “He is risen!” or “He is risen indeed”! Then, send your videos to [email protected]  by Thursday morning, April 23, so we have time for some editing.

It’s been such a joy to see so many of your faces (even if it’s just for a second)! Please consider participating if you haven’t already!

DISCIPLESHIP EXPLORED COURSE

While fear grips our world – there is nothing better than reminding ourselves of the gospel and growing in our love of it. I want to encourage you to join in on a study through Paul’s letter to the Philippians over these coming weeks entitled, “Discipleship Explored.”

This course helps followers of Jesus turn up the gospel soundtrack to their lives, and goes beyond simply teaching the right moves – go to church, pray, read the Bible, share the gospel – and focuses on the music which drives discipleship: the love of Christ. The greatest love anyone can ever know.

This is ideal for believers at any stage of the Christian life.

If you are interested in joining this study online using Zoom, please sign up by clicking on the appropriate button below for login details.

ORDER OF WORSHIP

Pray through the liturgy below and watch this morning’s message…

CALL TO WORSHIP

1 Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.

2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.

3 For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods.

4 In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him.

5 The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.

6 Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;

7 for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.

-Psalm 95:1-7 NIV

SONG: Great Things

PRAYER

Praise be to you, O God the Father: You created all things by your power and wisdom and so loved the world that you gave your Son to be our Savior.

Praise be to you, O God the Son: You became human like us in all things, but lived without sin, died for our offenses, and rose again for our justification.

Praise be to you, O God the Holy Spirit: You lead us into all truth and spread the love of God in our hearts

Holy God, we often mold you into something less than you are and doubt your love and power in our lives.

Forgive us Lord. Help us to see you and to know you more fully.

Fill us with the vision of your glory, that we may always serve and praise you. Amen

SONG: Holy Holy Holy

ASSURANCE

Hear this assurance from the Gospel of John.

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12 NLT)

God sent Christ into the world that he might restore us to himself to live with him. When we believe in Jesus Christ and what he has done for us, responding in faith to this beautiful invitation, we become a part of God’s family. We become God’s children and he promises to never leave us or forsake us. Hallelujah!

This means we are safe – safe to live in the presence of a Holy God, safe to confess our sin and share in suffering without the fear of being rejected. Safe to carry the gospel in the face of hostility, and ultimately safe with him forevermore.

GIVING

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.

If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. -1 John 3:16-18

Your giving has gone towards the work of supporting ministries serving in our local community, our country around the world through our partnerships with missioniaries.

As God’s prized possessions, let’s take a moment and pass the virtual giving baskets. You can give online via Devonshire’s website or snail mail.
