Good Morning, Devonshire Church!
It’s Sunday morning when our habit is to gather together for worship. Since we are unable to gather together physically, I want to encourage you to worship this morning in your homes – let’s sing, pray, recite Scripture, give, listen, and reflect/discuss together. Below you’ll find a guide for home worship along with this week’s message.
It’s a blessing to be able to continue on being the church through a time of crisis. Together let’s look to our Father who is in control of all things, who remains the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Our God is still faithful, still loving, kind and compassionate, and desires all people to turn to Him. Let’s worship our Father who is so worthy of our praise!
*Also, I’m including links to resources that parents can use with children throughout the week, and information on ways to pray and give.
**If you have any prayer concerns/needs, that you would like to share with me, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I and your church leadership love you and are here to serve you.
Your Brother in Christ,
Pastor Derek

ORDER OF WORSHIP
Pray through the liturgy below and watch this morning’s message …
SONG: He Is Our God
CALL TO WORSHIP
We begin as we do every Sunday, standing on the word of God. Hear his word:
Every word you give me is a miracle word—
how could I help but obey?
Break open your words, let the light shine out,
let ordinary people see the meaning.
-Psalm 119:129-130 The Message
SONG: Your Grace is Enough
CONFESSION/LAMENT
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. -Hebrews 4:12 NIV
How do we respond? … again, we may turn to his word for guidance:
8 But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, And don’t take yourself too seriously – take God seriously. -Micah 6:8 The Message
SONG: It Is Well
ASSURANCE
Hear the word of the Lord:
8 The grass withers and the flowers fade,
but the word of our God stands forever.”
9 O Zion, messenger of good news,
shout from the mountaintops!
Shout it louder, O Jerusalem.
Shout, and do not be afraid.
Tell the towns of Judah,
“Your God is coming!”
10 Yes, the Sovereign Lord is coming in power.
He will rule with a powerful arm.
See, he brings his reward with him as he comes.
11 He will feed his flock like a shepherd.
He will carry the lambs in his arms,
holding them close to his heart.
He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.-Isaiah 40:8-11 NLT
What’s our response to God’s unchanging word? To shout it, louder and louder. Don’t be afraid! Remember that God is coming in power (and bringing a reward). He will provide for us, carry us, hold us close to his heart, and gently lead us.

SONG: O Praise the Name
BENEDICTION
So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are! —will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does.
QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION AND DISCUSSION
- How did the Holy Spirit speak to you today?
- In your spiritual life, who is one person who has demonstrated what it means to “wash feet”? What did he or she do?
- Specifically, who will you put Jesus’ teaching into practice in at least one relationship this week?
- What are the implications of this passage for our church family? For our community?
